Trust Members to Pitch In

Last updated : 09 February 2004 By Firparkcorner

The last meeting of Trust members in September was addressed by Stuart Duncan of the Greenock Morton Trust. He explained the mechanics of their Loan Scheme. Since then the Trust board has been considering how to implement a scheme to enable members to make regular donations to the Trust. The result, with the name Pitch In, will be launched on Thursday.

Most fans realise that the club will have to match income and expenditure when it emerges from administration and that it will need support from the fan base to stay in the black. This initiative should be the start of some serious community involvement in the future success of the football club.

The fund to be established will be used to help overtake the main aims of the Trust, to build share ownership in the club and to fund specific projects.

Terry and Chris will be on hand to discuss football matters with members.

Those who have heard Terry speak will be aware that he has a refreshingly open and honest style and that his enthusiasm for the club shines through. Chris will give an update on the youth development department and no doubt he will be tempted to reflect on the ’91 Cup win (and the chances of a repeat in 2004!).

Membership forms will be on hand to enable any non member to sign up and the bar will be open. The evening is scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm and doors will be open at 7pm.
