That's no reason to rejoice at our current predicament but it does offer a glimmer of hope to those who are currently anticipating a visit to the likes of Alloa, Arbroath or Ayr next season.

Don't get injured Kaiser!
We have not yet reached the halfway mark in the season. Our results can only improve and other teams are likely to have spells of poor form before the final placings in May.

In typical 'Well fashion we failed to take any points from what we believed to be the crunch games against Thistle and United. It would be no great surprise (though a great delight) is we were to gain some unexpected spoils from our fixtures this side of the transfer window.

The management trio of Butcher, McCart and Adams have been in the football game long enough to realise that we are in more than a spot of bother. But they are constrained by circumstances outwith their control.

The only realistic room for manoeuvre will arrive in the January transfer window. The harsh choice may be that the only opportunity to strengthen the squad could be at the cost of losing one of our young 'stars'.

Hard times could lie ahead. But keep that atlas handy, just in case.
