Welcome Back Martyn

Until his injury he was a fixture on the starting sheet but we have had to do without his services this season. His knee has had intensive work in the last few months and his appearance at Westfield is the result of much hard work.

We have not missed his goal scoring powers (he’s been averaging a goal a season recently!) but the stability he brings to the back four has been sorely missed. Paul Quinn filled the breeched for many weeks and more recently Brian McLean was given an opportunity. These guys served us well as our current league position makes clear but there will be no doubt that Corrigan will be patrolling the right flank in his number two jersey as soon as he reaches the necessary fitness level.

Marc Fitzpatrick also made an appearance for the second string and it looks as though we can hope for a reduction of the injury list in the next few weeks. Marshall, McBride, Leitch, McCormack and Hamilton are still to make reserve appearances but some are still a long way from recovery.

Welcome back Martyn – let’s hope we see you on Saturday.
