The latest recruit to Stephen Robinson’s growing band of signings is Trevor Carson.  The goalkeeper joins from Hartlepool United for an undisclosed fee.

The ‘keeper, from Northern Ireland, is 29 and has impressed in the last couple of seasons at Hartlepool winning their player of the year award in 2015/16.  He missed much of last season with a shoulder injury but returned for the last two games.

He has been on the fringe if the NI international team and he’ll be hoping that a good showing for Motherwell will enhance his chance of a full cap.  Hartlepool had offered him improved terms but the lure of a three year deal at Fir Park pulled him north.

Carson is the fourth new signing of the close season with Bigirimana, Tanner and Fisher already on board.

Robinson told the official site, “I’ve been chasing Trevor all summer so to get it over the line is fantastic”

The club are hopeful of a successful conclusion to the ongoing talks with Russell Griffiths to complete our goalkeeping team.

The news comes on the day that the club unveiled a one year agreement with new club sponsors McEwan Fraser Legal.  The law firm are increasing their commitment to Scottish football and already sponsor Dundee, Dundee united and Inverness.  Their logo will soon be seen on our new strips.
