The ‘Well Worth Saving campaign’s coffers were boosted by £350 after a successful quiz in the Davie Cooper suite last Thursday night. Twenty four teams entered and the ‘Preferred Bidders’ won a close contest.
The quiz was a mixture of Motherwell, football and general knowledge rounds. As with all questions, it was only easy if you knew the answers and when some tables were smirking, others looked rather edgy. Top Motherwell related questions (that I can remember) were who was our top league scorer since the war (Pat Quinn) and who was the first Motherwell player to be capped (I forget).

The ‘Preferred Bidders’ won with 83 points, a few ahead of ‘Purple Monkey Dishwasher’ in second. Due to late arrivals, both teams had more than the officially permitted four players but given the fun nature of the evening, nobody seemed overly concerned.
Some hilarious ‘booby’ prizes were given out but with this being a family orientated site, it would be inappropriate to go into detail. Also received as a prize was a programme from the David Fererre match against Hibs – autographed three times by the wee man, so a true collectors item.
