Prediction v Aberdeen (h)

The Dons league form has shown signs of improvement over the last couple of weeks with nice wins over Livingston and Dunfermline boosting their points total. They would have been even better off in the table however if they had not suffered somewhat surprising defeats against Partick and Dundee Utd in successive weeks in early September. I guess all that this proves is that they are as inconsistent as any of the other 10 sides competing for 3rd place.

One advantage we have going into the game is that Aberdeen will have just been on a mid-week jaunt to Berlin to play Hertha in the UEFA Cup. A narrow last minute defeat means they are returning home with only the domestic season to concentrate on. Hopefully their legs will be tired and their spirits down. A low key trip to Motherwell is not a fixture that is going to get them focussed again quickly so I think we will have a definite advantage psychologically.

Hopefully Captain Leitch will be restored to the starting line up and Terry will be able to extract the same level of performance over 90 minutes that was produced last Saturday. It will be interesting to see if TB stays with Ferguson up front after praising his last couple of performances. It seems likely that he will so hopefully he will open his account on Saturday.

The only disappointing aspect of last Saturday in my opinion was the size of the crowd. I would have expected a few more especially considering it was the first home game since the Celtic victory. If you can get out and support the boys and make plenty of noise. I can sense a win just around the corner!

Motherwell 2 - 0 Aberdeen
