Prediction v Celtic (a)

The result on that night in September was fantastic but little did we realise the run we were about to embark on. Instead of thinking about a top six league position as we were then we are now desperately trying to envisage scenarios that will save us from relegation.

Remember the last time we played Celtic?

Last Saturdays result was getting pretty close to the bottom of the barrel. A 3-1 defeat is bad enough but to take the lead then have three sent off and seen Thistle beat Aberdeen to leave us six points adrift at the bottom just rubbed salt into the already gaping wounds. Our disciplinary record is a disgrace and cannot be excused due to the young age and relative inexperience of the side. We had a small squad at the start of the season and our priority had to be to avoid injuries and suspensions. Injuries are unavoidable but suspensions are and we have failed miserably to stem the flow of bookings and dismissals.

We just have to hope that we can hang on to the six point deficit that currently exists so it could be argued that the most important game for Motherwell this weekend is taking place on Saturday at Firhill.

It is not a question of who wins Sunday just a question of by how many and can we keep it respectable.

Celtic 4 - 0 Motherwell
