Prediction v Dundee United (a)

Woodsie back between the sticks
Paul Hegarty has just been sacked after only three months in charge. OK so he hadn’t managed to turn round the fortunes of United but surely anybody is entitled to more than three months, especially as he had just dipped into the transfer market and brought in a couple of additions to the squad. Hang on a minute though, Ian McCall from Falkirk has just been appointed. Could this mean that it has been confirmed to him that Falkirk cannot get promoted due to the ground situation and Dundee United is a safe bet for staying in the SPL next season no matter if they finish 12th or 11th.

Meanwhile there is a game to play. Motherwell gifted Kilmarnock all three points on Wednesday when looking good for a draw. Let’s hope that those points don’t prove costly at the end of the season. When will our disciplinary record improve? At the moment we must be well in the running for setting a record number of reds and yellow cards in a season and it is just not acceptable.

More often than not teams with new managers pull a little extra out in the first game under him. Add this to the fact that United are on an awful run and its Motherwell that are visiting it is probably inevitable that we are going to get beat. We seem to lack vital creativity up front without McFadden and with Lehmann also out its difficult to see where the goals are going to come from.
