Craig's Corner - Off and Running

Off and Running
Well, the season has well and truly begun. Three games, a win, a draw, and a loss. Not bad considering we were relegation favourites. It's been a fairly quiet couple of months for 'Well since we are still looking for a buyer and in administration. Hopefully we can get all of that sorted out soon!

Games so far

Livingston 3-2 'Well - A second half fight back came close at Almondvale but after the second goal we seemed to give up and I can't remember us having a shot after Lehmann's goal. What about the first 46 minutes? We didn't start to play until we were 3-0 down but even the strong away crowd couldn't get the team to push for the equalizer.

'Well 1-1 Partick

A disappointing game and a disappointing result. Not much more to say really.

Faddy's strike
Kilmarnock 0-3 'Well
Fantastic result for 'Well at Rugby Park. Goals from Ramsey, Pearo and Faddy gave us a convincing win against 8-man Killie. I thought we played brilliantly on the day. We seemed a bit nervous after it went 1-0 but we held out and a great goal by Faddy topped a great day off.

Players In & Out
Since I last wrote we have seen two of our top players from last season leave for a combined transfer fee of £280,000. Brilliant!!! Eric Delemeaux went to Aberdeen for £50,000 and Stuart Elliott moved to Hull for a bargain price of £230,000. I just think they will make a healthy profit when he moves on to a bigger club.

On the plus side we managed to sign a few new players ourselves. Not surprisingly all 4 players were on free transfers, David Partridge, Daniel Sengewald, Kheled Kemas and Darren Jack. I've been impressed with Partridge so far; the only problem is that he always seems to get booked! As for the other players, I don't think they should be in the starting line up. If they do, whom do we leave out? Before the season began I thought the back 4 should have been Hammell, Partridge, Sengewald and Corrigan, but now Ramsey is playing brilliantly and Corrigan has been excellent at centre-half. As for the forwards I would put Kemas up front with Lehmann and play Faddy just behind them and I would put Adams on the bench. Now Adams seems to be one of our most important players so we can't leave him out either. We'll just have to wait and see what happens!

Prediction
We are off to Tannadice on Sunday to play Dundee United. We don't seem to have a good record up there but I think we will change that this weekend. With 'Well winning 3-0 last weekend and with them getting horsed 5-0 off Celtic I think we would go in favourites to win the game.

Dundee United 1-2 'Well

That's all for now
