Mike's Moan - The Circus Comes To Town

Inverness have only one way of playing and every team in the SPL knows it. They do not have great players, they do not have a great manager, but what they do have is organisation with every player knowing his job. It is not pretty to watch, but it gets them points and will more than likely secure their SPL status for another year.

In contrast to ICT, Motherwell have no organisation, no confidence, and don't seem to know how to win a game. Individual mistakes are absolutely killing us, and you have to question whether motivation is the problem. I have never seen so many mistakes from a football team in such a short period of time. Mistakes such as the cock-up between Craigan and Quinn on Saturday just can't happen, but are continually being made. We made excuses for the defence at the beginning of the season because we had injuries and had lost Hammell, but that can no longer happen. Those in charge of our team need to get the defence on the training pitch, organise them, and try to install some confidence so we at least force the opposition to play well to score a goal.

As for our keeper, can someone please tell me that has happened? This was the one position I had no concern about whatsoever going into the season, but yet he has sold the jerseys at least four times already and maybe more.

Again I think something funny must be going on behind the scenes, as Buzz has gone from a confident, reliable, highly promising keeper, to a flapping accident waiting to happen. I just hope he can play himself through this dip in form as I think all the fans still back him and have confidence that he can come through this shaky spell. So keep your head up Buzz, you're still a good keeper and if Motherwell is going to get out of this mess we need you to be playing well.

Now for the worst aspect of our team - Kevin McBride.

Hopeless does not do him justice, and I only hope the fact that Malpas substituted him early in the second half against ICT means that he is starting to see the light. Our team is bad enough without a half-hearted, slow, waste of space on the right wing who puts less effort in than Barry Ferguson playing for
Scotland. There are no more excuses than can be made, he is simply a joke, and should never be seen in the claret and amber again!!!

I think all ‘Well fans are looking around for someone to blame for this shocking start to the season. Some are blaming John Boyle, with most laying into Malpas. I have defended him in the past, but no longer. There are no signs he can motivate the team and there are no signs that he really cares. My head says that he deserves more time to sort things out, my heart says get rid of the uninspiring Dundee Utd reject now!

Saturday's game ruined my weekend, and I certainly won't be looking forward to the Hearts game next Saturday. But time is a great healer, and you never know by next Saturday…. nah forget it no-one could be that optimistic.
