Mike's Moan: Hands Off!

Mark McGhee has worked wonders at Motherwell so far this season but does this make him the number one contender for the Scotland job? - The answer surely has to be no.

After all, he is managing Motherwell, he was unemployed for a good while before he came to Lanarkshire and he hasn't really achieved great things throughout his managerial career. He has had relative success in the lower leagues in England, got relegated and sacked with a team in the Premiership and then overlooked for umpteen jobs until he took the reigns at the mighty 'Well.

Is this the CV of a future Scotland manager? - In my opinion, not yet. There are better candidates with greater experience and better records, so lets hope the SFA don't appoint him just because he is the current media darling. If it was up to me I would give it to Billy Davies, who was very unfairly sacked by Derby County, alongside a more experienced assistant such as Joe Jordan.

It would be a huge blow for us if he was to leave now. In fact it is almost unthinkable. He has had such a positive impact on the team, made mediocre players play superbly, turned a dour team into a free-flowing attacking side - that it would be almost impossible to replace him.

So here is a message to the SFA - P*ss off and leave us alone!!!

As for Saturday's game, I can't wait for it. We are on a great run of form having won three in a row without conceding a goal so Tynecastle should hold no fears for us.

The only change I would make is to bring Keith Lasley back into the team in place of McGarry. Keith will add steel and strength the team, attributes which will be vital against a big Hearts team.
