Mike's Moan: PLG - You're Having A Laugh

I know Rangers pretty much dominated the game but I think if we had pushed them a little more in the last 15 minutes they were ready to buckle and a good day could have turned into a great day. Rangers are a poor team, their defence looks shaky with both centre halves on Saturday looking no better than Dave McPherson on a bad day.

Everyone has to remember that these two overrated carthorses will be getting paid big money by David Murray and his cronies and what Paul Le Guen sees in them I do not know. Every time Skippy got the ball on Saturday I was urging him to run with it, as he seemed able to beat most players in blue with ease - and I'm still claiming that injury time penalty.

I actually feel sorry for the blue noses at the moment, well ok I don't, as their team is awful. The keeper is a French calamity act, the back four is an instructional video on how not to defend, the midfield looks as mobile as Richard Hammond's car and up front they have no idea who to play or how to play. Prso looks past it and jaded, Buffel is in and out and rarely finds an end product and Boyd and Sebo don't know if there coming or going.

It is so bad at fortress bluenose just now I wouldn't be surprised if they welcomed back Big Eck with open arms - now there is a scary thought!!! I hear all these delusional fans saying that PLG will turn it around, that he needed time at Lyon before he moulded them into a great team. Well I am afraid that is not going to happen. The French maestro has signed duds, doesn't know what formation to play and doesn't have a clue who is best players are. PLG - Putrid, Lethargic, Guff!!!

I also have to give credit to Colin Meldrum on Saturday. He pulled off a couple of good saves and then saved our bacon in the last minute with an excellent stop. I am not wee Melly's biggest fan and I still think Smith needs to come back in sooner rather than later but I have to give him credit for Saturday and credit for coming in and steadying the ship.

So I am now looking forward to the St Mirren game with a great deal of optimism, even my old chum Lawsteelman must feel slightly upbeat going into this game. We owe the buddies one after we played so poorly at Love Street earlier in the season and I genuinely feel that we will beat them. They have been playing above their station this season and it's about time they got brought back down to earth with a bump. St Mirren have a couple of half decent players but the majority of the squad are either journeymen or untried - so we should have no problem sticking a few goals past them.

Mike's prediction - Motherwell 3 Paisley Past-Its/Youths 0
