'Well Off To Good Start

Celebrations as Adams scores
We made a slow start to the game and Stenhousemuir had more of the possession in the opening twenty minutes. They never looked like threatening Woods' goal though and it wasn't too long before we came into things. McFadden had a shot tipped wide and Adams saw a free kick saved but it was our old 'friend' Jimmy Sandison who opened the scoring for us. Stevie Hammell's free kick was palmed back into play and Sandison put into his own net under pressure from Derek Adams.

That was all the action for the first half but we didn't have long to wait for a goal. A good passing move resulted in Faddy hitting a high cross to the back post and Dirk Lehmann beat the goalie with a downward header. Tempers began to fray as some rough tackles began to come in from the home side. Scott Leitch was anxious to protect some of his players and he was possibly lucky not to join one of the home players in being substituted by the referee.

Faddy goes red on top!
We scored another good goal when Pearson evaded a challenge to cross for Adams to find the net with a well placed header. We could have had more but Lasley had a shot saved and David Clarke hit the bar. Stenhousemuir had a late rally but they couldn't put us under any real pressure. A good start to our build up and it was a pleasing performance and result.

Let's hope for more of the same against Birmingham.
