Motherwell Community Trust FC go top

Motherwell went into last weekend's match against a home team who had won their last three games.

The game started off a bit scrappy and Whitfield took the lead from a free kick that deceived the keeper and found the corner of the net.  Just before half-time Motherwell equalised after fine work down the wing from Nicky Ray Watson that saw his cross put past the Whitfield keeper by Stuart Jack.

The second half saw Motherwell come out with all guns blazing and it wasn't long before Peter Tait poked the ball in the net from captain and man of the match Andrew Mackenzie's corner.

A few minutes later Christopher Sinclair put a fantastic ball in to the box that saw Nicky Ray Watson rise above the defence and head the ball into the net.  Motherwell continued to play some good football and saw the match out.   The victory keeps up their chances of promotion.
