Another Truimph for FirParkCorner FC

With the impressive Graeme Ramage missing, John Hendry had his chance to stake a claim for a permanent place in Fraser's first team plans. Darren Alexander was also drafted into the starting line-up after bagging an impressive double from the subs bench against PTFC.net.

The game started slowly, and the fans (Mitch's burd and a coupla randoms) had to wait for twenty minutes for the first real action of the match. Chris Miller, who was enjoying his best ever game for FPC, went down clutching an ankle following a clumsy challenge. After a consultation with the club doctor, it's been decided he's never to play again. Ever.

As Chris was being attended to on the touchline, Josy Lynas sprung the offside trap after an excellent ball from Galloway and fired home a shot that the advancing goalie could only touch into the top corner of the net.

Arab FC almost hauled themselves level as a clumsy challenge from John Hendry resulted in Ra Corner conceding their third penalty in as many games.

Another clean sheet
However, Farmer's clean sheet was kept intact as the visitting striker blazed the spot-kick over the bar. Lynas was again on the scoresheet just before half time as a relatively tame header from the back post somehow managed to squirm through the goalkeeper's legs. It was a bit of a blunder from the visitting stopper, but credit still must be paid to the smallest man on the pitch notching a goal with his head.

The second half saw several changes as FPC began to realise the points were in the bag. Fraser introduced Speedie, Boyd, Pettigrew and Wyper into the action and

it was Wyper who made it 3-0 with a downward header after an excellent cross from Tony O'Neill. Not a name you see often on the scoresheet but he certainly seemed to enjoy the rare occasion.

In the final moments of the game, Lynas sealed the victory and completed his hat-trick when he kept his cool to slot home when put clean through on the 'keeper.

So the winning run continues for another week, but the victory was marred by injuries to both Miller and Alexander, who will be missing for next weeks trip to Maryhill to take on the Harry Wraggs.

Next week will also see Derek WIlson making his final appearance for FPC before his season-long loan deal to Hertha Berlin is finalised. The lads will no doubt be keen to send him off with a victory and I've every confidence they will do just that.

Team: Farmer: Hepworth, Mitchell, J. Hendry: Anderson, O'Neill, Cunningham, Galloway, Alexander, D.Hendry, Lynas.
