Countdown To Worldnet is Underway

FirParkCorner FC will be taking their place for the fourth consecutive season, but this year’s tournament marks a decade of what is now a world-renowned event.

The lads are going into the tournament in a confident mood, despite being drawn in what will surely become known as the Group of Death. Millwall, Hearts and Ayr Utd provide the unenviable opposition in Group 8, but Ra Corner will not be fazed, given that they are currently enjoying a resurgence on and off the pitch.

Spirits are at an all time high after the continuation of a remarkable winning streak with a 9-1 demolition in Kirkcaldy at the weekend.

The fixture schedule for Worldnet has been kind to the Dossers’ faithful, with the lads being allowed to kip until11am before taking on Kaisayr in the first league match. The boys are certain to take full advantage of this on the Friday evening in or around Leeds city centre!

The matches are very keenly anticipated, with FPC eager to pit their wits against their continental equivalents, but the off-field socialising is just as eagerly awaited (if not more so!). A few legendary nights on the town have already been had in Yorkshire, and it’s likely that 2005 will throw up some tall tales for the table in JDs for years to come!

Despite being without key players Alexander, Ramage, Wyper and Gardiner, a 25-strong claret and amber army will be embarking on the journey south confident of upsetting the odds and coming back with some silver.

Good luck to the team.
