A stroke of a good luck for FPC was that the Aberdeen side had only one substitute.
Second half kick off
FPC started off well but just couldn’t create any clear-cut chances in the first thirty minutes. Inter created a few openings and came extremely close when an Inter forward broke free. Del The Goalie did very well to narrow the angle and the forward put it inches past the post.
The break through for FPC came when “Inspirational” substitute Mitch came on and within minutes put the ball in the back of the net. Jnr played a long ball over the top of the Aberdeen defence which Mitch ran onto and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper. Some would say that Mitch miss hit the ball but he claims he meant it!
The second goal came after an excellent run from Gilly who flew past a number of Inter Ma Lamb players before slotting the ball through to Dave Hendry who slotted the ball into the net,first time with his left foot. This was one of the best goals of the day with a lot of passing and moving in the build up. The Aberdeen defenders called for offside but one of them later admitted that it was him that kept Dave onside.
Soon after, Craig came close from a header but it went just over the bar.
The second half got underway very quickly when Aberdeen tried to get back into the game and they succeeded. The FPC defence was caught cold with a cross and an Aberdeen forward easily knocked in a header at the back post. Their come back didn’t last long when a great cross from Gilly was met by the head of Jnr who powered the ball into the bottom corner.
Junior’s header finds the net
A win looked certain for FPC but the visitors had other ideas. They clawed their way back into the match when the FPC defence were overrun by Aberdeen attackers and they scored another header which Del The Goalie wasn’t too happy about.
Toward the end of the game FPC scored again. Some very good short passing from Jammy and Dave Hendry beat the defenders and Dave Hendry side footed the ball into the net for his second and FPC’s fourth of the day. Once again Aberdeen scared FPC by scoring close to the end when an Aberdeen forward beat the offside trap to slot the ball past a well spread Del the Goalie.
FirParkCorner held on and got their first victory over the Aberdeen Side. This was sweet revenge for the defeat at Worldnet. It was a great team effort – ‘Well done lads!
Once again good defending and good saves from Del The Goalie were the inspiration to FPC’s win. One thing I have to mention is the funniest moment of the season to date. Gilly was close to the touchline where he rattled the ball out of play. The ball hit the bar that goes round the side of the pitch and the ball hit an Aberdeen defender on the head. The power knocked him off his feet. The guy was sitting on the ground shouting at Gilly when the ball came down from the air and hit him on the head again! Magical moment.

Man Of The Match- All players put in 100% but once again Jnr was voted MOM by the Inter Ma Lamb team.
