FirParkCorner FC Win Again

Joe Lynas - first scorer
Despite an injury list which stretched to double figures, the Corner dominated from start to finish and the three points were never in doubt. Joseph Lynas extended his lead at the top of the scorers chart after ten minutes when he knocked home from close range after his initial effort was parried by the visiting goalkeeper.

Ross Galloway doubled the home side’s lead shortly afterwards with a low drive from the right-hand corner of the 18-yard box which squirmed through the hands of the keeper. The goal was no less than Galloway deserved as the tricky winger put in a fine performance throughout the match.

Hitman Lynas notched his second of the match, and thirteenth of the season, shortly before half time when he raced past two Falkirk defenders before blasting into the net.

That was the last action of the half and Fraser introduced the injury-stricken Chris Miller at the interval to mark his return to the first team. His presence in the midfield was clearly felt as FPC stretched their lead almost instantly, with Tony O'Neill unbelievably (so unbelievable I don't actually believe it!) breaking the offside trap to cooly slot into the net.

Braes Bairns were beginning to self-destruct at this point and FPC played little part in the fifth goal. The goalkeeper calmly rolled the ball out to his fullback who, in an attempt to return the pass, popped the ball into the corner of the net. It was a sign of how things were going for the visiting team and the Corner boys did well to remain dignified in their celebrations.

With little left to play for, the gaffer opted to give himself a run-out for the last ten minutes, and his impact was immediate. Within seconds, he had slotted the ball home after an excellent square ball from Lynas.

The same man provided the pass for Fraser’s second of the afternoon, with the gangly midfielder choosing the top corner to complete his brace.

There was only ever going to be one winner, with the Bairns only recording one shot on goal throughout the entire match. The result keeps the Corner at the top of the pile for another week, and they'll be hoping to stay there when HIbs come to down in a weeks time.
