FPC 1 Sparta Jag 3

The home side settled quickly and were soon one up. Mitch managed to squeeze the ball from a defender, Kenzie released Del and he squared to give Jammy an easy header into an empty net.

This jarred Sparta into action and they were only denied an equaliser when a goal bound effort was deflected over by one of their own players.

However, they weren’t to be denied for long and pulled level when a striker was given space and time on the left of the box and beat Del the goalie. An identical goal for Sparta gave them the lead, moments after Gilly had hit the post for FPC.

It took a great save from Del the goalie to deny Sparta another carbon copy of their other goals and FPC had an equaliser disallowed. Gilly had cut the ball back, Del left it knowing Frazzle was behind him and the mullet haired midfielder thumped the ball in off the far post. Unfortunately, his hair had interfered with his brain and in an act of gross muppetry, he had shouted ‘leave it’ before scoring. Chalked off.

FPC had most of the play in the second half but the Sparta Jag defence was solid and they created the better chances. Del the ‘keeper made a great save to keep FPC in with a chance and Del the striker cleared one off the line after an indirect free kick.

Scott Robison came closest to equalising but his twenty yard drive was well saved by the Sparta goalie. The visitors scored a last minute clincher after a break had led to a scramble in the box. It was a disappointing result for FPC but the team was collectively poor and can have no complaints about the result.

The team are now looking forward to next weeks jaunt down south for a friendly before returning to IFA league business at the end of the month.
