FPC FC 5 Kickin' Squirrels 2

Last updated : 25 August 2003 By Frazzle

The home side made the ideal start when Frazzle chased a poor back pass and forced the keeper into an error to hand the midfielder a simple finish inside the first minute. The visitors never seemed to recover from this and it was only ever a matter of time before the ‘Corner doubled their lead. Jammy beat the offside trap to slot past the despairing goalkeeper to put the lads two up at the break.

The brains on the touchline
Piglet made several changes at the interval but the pattern of the game hardly changed, with FPC continuing to dominate. The killer goal came from one of the substitutes, Jnr, as he outpaced a defender to plant the ball in the bottom corner.

The league-leaders then took the foot off the gas and Killie began to become more involved in the game, so it was fully deserved, if somewhat dubious, when a hopeful ball released a striker to fire through Farmers legs to pull one back.

This was the kick-start FPC were looking for, as they put the game beyond doubt with a delightful chip from Jnr and a looping header by Moyesie, before Killie added a consolation late on.

FPC looked good throughout the game, and caused the Squirrels no end of problems, particularly down the wings. Gilly picked up a deserved MotM award for his efforts on the right hand side but its fair to say the entire team played very well.

The victory lifted FPC to the top of the league. Will they stay there? Here’s hoping.
