FPC FC - Jock Stein Pitch

Jock Stein, Hamilton

Another Hamilton venue, this time away from the town centre and located in the lovely (ahem) suburb of Hillhouse.

The pitch - you get a good view from the flats!

A large astroturf pitch which is probably a better surface than the one at the Palace Grounds but unfortunately it is a lot more likely to shred your skin when it comes to making sliding tackles.

Easy(ish) to get to for visitors but only come by public transport if the bus has a rear gunner. Changing facilities are okay. The dressing rooms are small(ish), the ref gets a cupboard and the showers are adequate.

Travel:
The simplest directions to the pitch start from M74 J5 (the Raith). Follow signs for East Kilbride. Travelling up the expressway towards EK take the third exit - probably signposted 'Technology Park'. At the roundabout at the end of the slip road turn almost 180 degrees and follow Hillhouse Road, the park is on the right about a mile distant.

Have a look at the map to check the location.
