WorldNet Diary - Wednesday

Last updated : 13 July 2005 By Firparkcorner

We’re ready and raring to go following Monday’s light ‘sesh’ with ‘coach’ John Hendry. The big man deserves a bit of credit with training becoming far better than last season’s effort. However, we all remember the night when John burst his tights and made the team run for a couple of hours a few weeks back. It’s been better since then but then again that wouldn’t be hard, most of the team having collapsed during the second set of shuttles. Wednesday night sees the last chance for some ‘tactical tuning’ in our second training session this week, surely an FPC record?

The next few days will also see the arrival of the official Fir Park Corner FC bench jackets, especially useful for Malcolm Boyd and John Hendry. Of course it goes without saying that they’ll probably not get an outing in Leeds especially if the weather stays the way it is just now, both Topper and Big John just can’t cope with these conditions. It might be a bit too warm for the jackets as well. It’s also worth saying that the official jacket sponsor of FPC FC is firparkcorner.com, shameless plug.

With only days to go the travel arrangements are still not been fully resolved but a team of statisticians and Frazzle are working tirelessly on it. I’m assured it will be all be fine by the time the team arrive at Jack Daniel’s Bar in Motherwell early on Friday morning. There’s also the matter of the Saturday night team meal, anyone know of a decent buffet restaurant in Leeds? Talking of food; Frazzle, John Hendry and myself are all off for a lunchtime curry tomorrow. If your interested the manager of Motherwell FC’s official Worldnet representatives will plump for vegetable pakora, chicken korma and fried rice followed by ice cream; his selection in restaurants as predictable as his tactics on the field.
