A New Start

For a start, the headlines that we're going into liquidation have proved to be slightly inaccurate. We are applying to go into interim administration, which means that the court of session will appoint someone to run the club whilst the current board try to sell it.

The adminstrator will make us more cost effective and there will be redundancies both on and off the field. This should allow us to get rid of our crippling wage bill.

Pat Nevin and Eric Black both felt it was in the best interests of the club that they resign. Terry Butcher will be in charge of the team. A Fir Park insider is of the opinion that Black isn't interested in the Coventry job - but we'll have to wait and see on that one.

John Boyle looked gutted at the end of today's press conference but he has now accepted that it is time to move on. He is writing off almost all of his investment in the club, so the new owner(s) won't have to pay off a massive debt.

It is thought that the current board will encourage a community takeover or some kind of supporters trust which will run the club.

It is hard how to see we will be able to survive in the top league next year but right now that is not the issue. What is important is that there will be a Motherwell Football Club for a long time to come.

We'll support you ever more.
