We last had a 3-0 win at Pittodrie in November 2003 when goals from Craig, Pearson and Lasley moved Terry Butcher's youngsters to fifth place. This season our three league meetings have produced a win and two draws against the Dons, surely a feat that we didn't expect at the start of the season?

Well done team!

The gap over Falkirk at the bottom of the table is now 16 points, enough to banish thoughts of relegation. The revival of fortunes under Brown and Knox comes with no guarantee but even with his words of warning after the game, "We have to keep calm and keep our feet on the ground and not get carried away…" only a determined pessimist would fear a drop at the end of the season.

The game itself turned into a stroll for Motherwell. The quick double after the break prompted the departure of many of the home crowd and they trudged into the snowy wastes to the cheers of the few hundred 'Well fans ringing in their ears.

Such was the disarray in the home defence that a four or five goal margin was a possibility. At times we were guilty of showboating and eventually cries of Olé echoed every pass as our dominance was demonstrated.

February presents us with five league fixtures, four at home and one away to Hamilton. A decent haul of points could go a long way to earning a top six place in April.
