Any team in red will do!

Following the semi final triumph the manager was full of praise for the contribution made by everyone in the squad, whether they were on the field or not.  He said that he was on the touchline after 25 minutes, two goals up, and we hadn’t played yet!

He explained that the team had not been finalised until the last minute.  Humphrey had a fitness test at 0830 and struggled through.  It was a tough morning and it was difficult leaving some players out of the 16 who had to get changed.

Captain Craigan scores his first in 5 years

A half time he was pleased to have a three goal lead but there was no back slapping in the dressing room.  He knew that the team had to be fully focussed for the second half.

While he was chatting to the press thousands of happy Motherwell fans were making their way home and starting to plan for the biggest day in the club’s recent history.  An appearance at Hampden on the final day would make any season a success but when we remember that the team made the CIS semi final and earned a finish in the top half of the table we have to praise the club for its performance.
