Bring a pal on Saturday

Europe here we come! There’s little doubt that the team can be lifted by the sight of packed home stands and, even better, plenty of vocal support.  Can the boys avoid the usual ‘special day’ hoodoo that normally accompanies such events?

In days gone by it was normal that an extraordinary effort to increase the crowd was met with a flat, uninspiring and unsuccessful display that ensured that those enticed to the ground would never return.  But Craig and Archie no nothing of that tradition – so don’t tell them!

Season tickets holders have to arrive at the turnstile at the same time as their guest and voucher F in the book will be used together with this week’s voucher 16.   Some flexibility will be needed in seating arrangements as the expected higher attendance will need to be accommodated.

The club is planning another initiative for the post-split fixtures but details won’t be released until details of the last five games are announced.   As we have a target of a European place in our sights there are likely to be one or two crucial matches at Fir Park and an afternoon of beach ball celebrations in the May sunshine should pull in the fans.

The Falkirk game will give the team the chance to consign Saturday’s off day to history.  John Hughes’ team has not won in their last six outings and their desperation to scrap from the bottom of the table must be increasing as the season draws to a close.  Let’s get the numbers up at the weekend.
