If a pound was to be donated for every sympathetic enquiry then the club would be able to sign another player! The outpouring of concern for the fans and, more important, the players from all corners including all sections of the media is well meant but to the faithful core support the manner of the defeat simply reinforces what it means to be a Motherwell supporter.

This game was the third encounter in just over a fortnight with both sides of the Old Firm. On each occasion the team produced a great performance but came away with nothing. It was hard to watch as a fan, dear knows what it must be like for the players.

A debut for Abel
We have to put these games behind us now and focus fully on achieving a top six spot. The debate about the worth of the split continues but while it persists it remains a worthwhile target to finish the league in the upper half. The financial benefits are important but of equal measure is the boost to the self esteem of the squad.

The game next Wednesday against Kilmarnock gives the fans a chance to show appreciation for the huge effort expended over recent games. If they can deliver the same performance we should start moving up the table.

Thanks again lads.
