Clarkson Scores for Scotland U21s

Clarkson scored Scotland’s second goal late on in the game but the late, late comeback failed to materialise and the U21s continue their poor run of form. ‘Well fans will be delighted that our man found the net as he needs the lift that any goal gives to a striker. With any luck it will restore some confidence after a season when his name was rarely mentioned in dispatches.

The teams found it hard to play anything like a normal game. The sodden park prevented the ball from rolling and players were forced to punt rather than play the ball to feet.

David Taylor and his chums will argue that the game should have been a washout and that a replay should have been arranged for Wednesday, before the A squads fight out their World Cup qualifier.
