Tom Hateley

hateleyWe were cheered with the news that the versatile midfielder agreed to sign on for three years.  Since Gannon brought him in early last season he has been a fixture in the team.  His 41 appearances were mostly in the right back position and he produced a couple of fine goals.  ‘Well fans will remember the stunning opening strike against Rangers in February and we’ll welcome a few more in the coming season.

Craig Brown was delighted to capture the 20 year old and said, “It’s fantastic that we have Tom tied down to a long-term contract.  He is a smashing midfield player but we are lucky that he has been able to fill in a number of positions for us and done very well indeed. “

New Strips

The club unveiled the new season’s strips and they seem to have met with the fans’ approval.  The home top strikes a traditional claret and amber theme with the band in place.  The alternate top is hardly a fashion statement but will serve the purpose.  As yet there is no sponsor and the strips have an uncluttered feel.  They should be in the club shop in July.

Angelis Charalambous

Fans who choose to emblazon their replica strip with the name of our latest signing will have to dig deep into their pockets.  Angelis is a Cypriot who was spotted when our youngsters played Anorthosis Famagusta reserves.  Gordon Young was instrumental in identifying the 21 year old as a potential right back and he has been on trial with us for some time.  He signed for a year with an option for a second.  He’ll be hoping to push for a place in the first team at some stage in the campaign.  Next season’s squad is slowly taking shape but there are a few key positions still to be filled.

New 'keeper

The week started with the news that former Airdrie guardian Lee Hollis is to join the club.  He'll be a back up for Michael Fraser if he chooses not to pursue his career elsewhere.  It seems more than likely that we'll need another goalkeeper before the season starts.

Pre-season Friendlies

Prices for the three games ahead of the Europa League ties have been announced.  It will cost £6/£3 for the games at Brechin on Tuesday 6 July and Forfar on Thursday 8 July £6/£3 while the Saturday game in  Ayr on 10 July will cost £12/£6.
