Fab four hand Motherwell pre-Hampden boost

Motherwell gave their fans a pre-Hampden boost with the news that four first team regulars have agreed contract extensions.  We'll be seeing plenty more of Messers Kipré, Tait, Dunne and Bowman.

Stephen Robinson suggested that we could expect some news at the end of the week when he spoke to the press at the midweek media conference.  The announcement duly arrived on Friday evening from the club website.

Ryan Bowman is now contracted at Fir Park for a further year, until 2019.  The big striker built up a productive pairing with Louis Moult and now working well with his new partner Curtis Main.

Cerdic Kipré became a firm fan favourite within weeks of his first appearance in claret and amber at the start of the season.  The young defender has now earned a second extension and has signed on until 2020.  His no nonsense defensive style has drawn admiring glances and the club has done well to protect its interests.

Charles Dunne also committed himself to the club until 2020.  He is an important cog in our defence  but when the opportunity arises he can also show an impressive turn of speed to move the ball into the opposition half.

Richard Tait has made a huge contribution to Motherwell's success this season.  He has played on both flanks and was recognised by the management and coaching staff at the recent awards ceremony.  Whether in defence or at the other end of the park assisting his forwards he has been an impressive addition to our squad and his extension until 2020 is welcome.

The timing of the announcement, just ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final, could be the perfect finish to our preparations for this crucial game - we'll soon know.
