Falkirk 24h On

It's a pity that our meetings against Falkirk are restricted to three or four a year as our record against them seems to make us a banker. The bookies should have taken a hammering yesterday as odds of around 7/3 were there for the taking.

Clarkson kicks off

The winning plan suffered a hiccup when some slack defending allowed
Falkirk to take the lead at the start of the second half. That goal was the third in a row we have conceded from the right side of the defence.

There's no doubt that Corrigan's welcome return has improved our effectiveness on the right wing but maybe more of a ruthless streak when defending on the touchline wouldn't go wrong.

Our goals were scored in exactly the type of clinical fashion which was missing in the early part of the season. McDonald latched on to a defensive error and made no mistake as he fired to the far corner and the second came after a fine effort from Clarkson produced an easy offering for Darren Smith. It was pleasing to hear the five hundred Motherwell fans give Clarkson warm applause as he left the pitch to make way for McCormack in the last few minutes.

In contrast to our record against Falkirk, Inverness has become a home bogey. Of the eleven SPL meetings between the teams the home side has won on only one occasion and there has been just the one draw. ICT has won on all five visits to Fir Park.

Why will the bookies make favourite this time?
