There are ten games remaining before the split. It would seem that the only hope of Motherwell finishing in the top half depends on us overtaking Hibs. Aberdeen, currently in fifth place, have what looks like a huge nine point advantage and it's hard to see us catching them.

Klimpl salutes the kick off!

We might pay dearly for our inability to secure the win which our play merited on Saturday. We dominated most of the match and had either Fitzpatrick or Porter managed any accuracy with their headed chances then surely we would now be level with the Easter Road outfit.

As luck would have it we have to face Hibs in Edinburgh for our next SPL outing. In contrast to our haul of eleven points from the last five games, Hibs have managed to take only four from the same number of matches. A win would let us overtake them.

Before that crunch league game we have the prospect of playing or twice postponed fifth round cup tie in Inverurie. Reports from the north on Sunday suggest that the game might go ahead at the third time of asking. The Locos drew 1-1 at Fraserburgh on Saturday.
