Fir Park Administration Screws up Again

Season ticket holders started to receive their annual reminders yesterday. We were told that our commitment to the club was ‘greatly valued and appreciated’.

Fans in the Cooper Stand were puzzled this morning when what appeared to be a duplicate mailshot arrived. On first inspection it looked identical. The same flyers and inserts were included and the personalised letter had a similar presentation.

A closer inspection of the letter revealed the existence of a new paragraph.

“In order to maximise the revenue for the club, we are introducing changes to the terms and conditions of season tickets in the Davie Cooper Stand. In line with most SPL clubs, these tickets will be flexible and will entitle the holder to admission to the Davie Cooper Stand for all matches excluding those against Rangers and Celtic, when the holder will be entitled to an upgraded seat in the Main Stand or if requested the East Stand.”

There was a board meeting at Fir ark last weekend and it is believed that the decision to alter the terms and conditions was taken at that time. Despite this, two sets of letters (both dated May) were dispatched. What a shambles.

There had been whispers that any alteration in conditions would have attracted a small discount but none appears to be forthcoming.

Regardless of the merits of this alteration to DC tickets it beggars belief that the club can manage, once more, to shoot itself in the foot when it appeals to its core support for renewals.

When will they get it right?
