Football's Future – Your Views are Needed

Last updated : 30 April 2005 By Firparkcorner

If we wish to have a say in the development of the game then it is important that fans take the time to submit their views.

About a year ago the Parliament’s Enterprise and Culture Committee began to investigate the state of Scottish football. They now have a series of proposals and have published an Interim Report and Discussion Paper.

This paper examines the administration and structure of the game, financing, infrastructure and facilities, football’s future (young people, women’s football, participation levels, elite player development, supporters, etc) and the role of the public sector.

The accompanying questionnaire Proposals to Reform Football in Scotland has twenty five questions and it gives the fans a chance to influence the committee before the final report is published.

If fans have views on whether there should be one governing body, how to spread the TV money, gate sharing, small-sided football and the like then now is the time for action. Read the discussion paper and fill in the online form by
May 23 2005.

Speak now or don’t moan about the state of the game!
