FPC boys thump Internazioswally

A lacklustre first half ended with a scrappy goal from the visitors to give them a narrow lead at the interval but the home side made a couple of changes at the break and came out of the traps flying in the second half.  Man of the Match Stevie Taylor fired home a deflected equaliser before Chris Beaton slotted past the goalkeeper two minutes later to turn the match on its head.  David Fraser added a third into the bottom corner to effectively end the match as a contest with twenty minutes remaining.

As the Airdrie side pushed forward to try to salvage something from the match, the pace of subsitute Ross Pate was causing them all sorts of problems on the break and he got the goal he deserved when Fraser headed a ball over the top of the back four for him to latch on and finish coolly.

Taylor then helped himself to his second of the match with another composed finish before Pate rounded off the scoring late on, beating the goalkeeper calmly when sent clear.  Unfortunately the calm finish was not mirrored in the reaction of the visiting goalkeeper, who took his frustrations out on the FPC attacker as he celebrated and received a straight red card to compound a miserable day for the diamonds.
