From Swansea to Tel Aviv

Last updated : 03 June 2013 By Firparkcorner

The 58 teams at this stage of the competition will be seeded so we can anticipate facing one of the 29 highest ranked sides.  Before the draw competitors will be split into groups of 10 or 12 (half seeded and half unseeded).   Motherwell's UEFA coefficient is 7.038 and that places us 10th in the unseeded group.  Assuming seeded teams win their earlier rounds our opponent will come from this list :-

Data from Bert Kassies brilliant site.

Top seeds are Stuttgart while the lowest standing possibility is Debrecen from Hungary.  The shortest journey will be to Swansea while the longest would be to Tel Aviv in Israel.

The identities of the pre-draw groupings is made known ahead of the draw (on Friday 19 July) so keen travellers will be able to make some hasty preparations in the event that the draw provides a single opponent.  The 2nd Qualifying Round will be complete on Thursday 25 July so it might be that we will have as little as one week to make arrangements for the expedition.
