Hamilton - 24h on

It was a miserable day in Hamilton for the many fans who made the journey across the Clyde.  Not only did their team fail to force a save until the last minute but they got cold and wet on the way home.  Who's be a football fan?

The drookit fans did leave with the sympathy of the manager.  Stephen Robinson remarked after full time that he wished he had been able to leave a few minutes early like some of the supporters.  He tore into his team, made no excuses and suggested that when training resumes on Tuesday the players will be reminded of the methods that delivered recent success.

Although our forwards lacked creativity credit must go to the Hamilton defence.  We had plenty of possession in the home half but we were unable to carve out any clear cut chance in 90 minutes.  The added disappointment was that the opposition seemed to win most of the loose balls.

The loss almost extinguishes our slim chance of reaching the top half of the table.  Our four remaining games are against Celtic (h), Rangers (h), Aberdeen (h) and St Johnstone (a).   We are   four points adrift of Hearts with a game in hand.

Our league form since the break is 3W 2D 3L, not too bad compared to the poor spell as the old year ended.  We still have a comfortable gap over the bottom pair and a cup semi-final to anticipate.  Let's not get carried away with one bad loss.
