Here we go again

As ever the first few days give an opportunity for the new faces to meet their colleagues and get used to the inner workings of Fir Park.  The four additions to the dressing room (Dean Brill, Richard Tait, Ben Hanighan and Jacob Blyth) will be keen to show Mark McGhee that their arrival will improve the team.  They will be hoping to get a first outing in claret and amber in Coatbridge on Saturday.

A ‘Well select will face Arbroath on Sunday before visiting Cowdenbeath on Tuesday, Dumbarton on Saturday 9 July and Easter Road on Sunday 10 July.

While the attraction of pre-season games does little to excite supporters we will not have too long to wait until the Betfred Cup kicks off in just over a fortnight when Rangers come to Fir Park on July 16.  No doubt there will be many watching from exotic holiday destinations on Fair Saturday.

Stevie Hammell is reported to have agreed a contract that will keep him on our books until 2018 and now only James McFadden and Scott McDonald remain undecided – though the suggestions are that Skippy will be dropping down a division.  Stephen Pearson’s decision to collect a bundle of rupees has weakened our midfield but the manager has suggested that he has firm targets in mind.
