Inverness 24h On

As a bonus, the results of our competitors in the bottom half of the table did no damage to our prospects and we still have two games in hand over the pack.

Looks like an empty stadium

Danny Murphy produced his best showing to date against Inverness. He looked comfortable in defence and his mazy run up-field produced the free kick which produced our winning goal. His delivery of that dead ball made the header a straightforward conversion for McDonald.

For years Motherwell keepers relied on Hammell providing an easy roll out to start the build up and it appears that Murphy is comfortable in accepting that role. Certainly Smith gave him lots of practice.

The play of Clarkson again gives the opportunity for debate but we have to accept that the manager chooses the team. If he feels that David is making a big enough contribution then all we can do is provide encouragement from the sidelines. McCormack is slowly and steadily gaining match practice and he will soon be in contention for a starting place.

With any luck we can kill off another bogey on Tuesday!
