Johnson out, Belic, Bowman in at Fir Park

A fee was agreed with Gateshead for 24 year old Ryan Bowman and it was after midnight before his signing was confirmed.  The 6' 2" striker has scored 23 times in his 54 appearances.  He has had spells with Carlisle, Darlington, Hereford, York and Torquay before joining the National League side in July 2015.

Luka Belic, a 20 year old Serbian forward, joined from West Ham on loan for the rest of the season.  He has been playing for the Hammers U21 side and he'll be keen to compete with McDonald, Moult, Blyth and Ainsworth for a place in our attack.

Marvin Johnson got his move to Oxford and Luke Watt went on loan to Stranraer as the final hours of the 2016 summer transfer window ticked away.

Confirmation of Johnson's transfer to Oxford United came on Wednesday evening.  The player had passed a medical earlier in the day and terms had been agreed.  The official word about the fee is 'undisclosed' but no doubt a number will appear soon.

That's the back of Johnson

The public spat between Motherwell and the player's agent has left both with a degree of satisfaction.  The player has his move and the club has a healthy profit on the reported fee of £25k we paid to Kiddiminster 18 months ago. We may have to pay the Harriers 10% of our earnings but the sale to Oxford included add ons that should provide a windfall if Johnson delivers on his promise.

The downside of the winger's departure is that we have lost a fixture in the starting eleven.  No doubt the manager has a little list that will be the focus of the club's interest as the midnight hour approaches.

Luke Watt is on his way to Stranraer for some first team experience.  His loan spell will keep him with the League One outfit until January.
