The headline writers certainly made the most of the 5-0 scoreline. Here are a few links for those who want to indulge in some pleasant reading.

The result was enjoyed all the more because it was unexpected. As Malpas said after the game, “It didn't matter whether the score was 1-0 or 15-0, it was the three points that we needed.”

It has been six months since the Motherwell support were able to leave Fir Park wearing broad grins and savouring and SPL win. It meant a lot to the fans but it must have meant more to the manager and players.

Malpas has taken lots of stick in the last few weeks but he stuck to the same theme. Time and time again he has argued that some of the results were not fair reflections of the team's performances and he remained upbeat about the spirit in the dressing room. Saturday's result was a deserved boost for them all.

With the international weekend upcoming, the troops will have a couple of weeks to prepare for the next ‘big' game when Dunfermline visit. And it will give our injured players another fortnight to move closer to a much needed return.

Well done to all.
