Kilmarnock - 24h On

We played wonderful, exhilarating football for much of the game. The midfielders and both full backs charged into attack to support the strikers whenever the opportunity arose. The ball was played on the deck when possible and our men were eager to run into space confident in the pass would be made.

Porter held - looks like a penalty!

All we had to show for a superb first half performance was a one goal lead. Despite our domination there was always a fear that we might pay the penalty for our inability to take more of the many chances we had created.

Clarkson had a terrific game and he got an extra special cheer when his first goal of the season arrived. He then ran riot and tormented the Killie defence but the second goal failed to materialise. It might be that a Clarkson - McCormack partnership could be preferred when we take on Gretna next week. We need to find a killer touch.

Jim Jeffries was honest enough to admit that his team were lucky to take one point never mind three but the fact remains that they scored with two of their three attempts. Had we converted even one from five the game would have been won with ease.

Over the last few years we have lost often to a late, late goal. But on this occasion the crowd recognised the quality shown and the players were cheered from the park. We can only hope that we are treated to the same show in the weeks ahead.
