Leeann to leave for Hibs

The story broke in the press late on Monday and the Easter Road website confirmed the details this morning.

She tweeted, "I can confirm that I have agreed to join Hibernian.  It was my intention to tell MFC supporters first before it went live.  However these things rarely stay within control.  I am very proud of my time at MFC, it's been a difficult decision for me to leave."

In her time at Fir Park she made huge strides in consolidating the link between the club and the community.  The MFC Community Trust, the wider use of the stadium and eventually the formation of the Well Society all took place under her guidance.  But perhaps the most important legacy will be a debt free club that produced the recent series of successful seasons on the park.

There was more than a little scepticism abroad in the 'Well support when John Boyle appointed her as General Manager.  She had come from the failed Zoom Airline at a time when we were in the fragile post-administration recovery.  She won our respect, turned the club towards the community and was made chief executive with a seat on the board.

It comes as no surprise that others saw her talent but there will be a few eyebrows raised at the move to Hibs.  Still, we're grateful for her service and wish her well.

The club now has to take some time to consider the next appointment.
