Louis Moult is a 23 year old striker from Wrexham FC.  The Welsh side accepted an offer on Monday (at Motherwell's request, an undisclosed fee)and he agreed terms at Fir Park on Tuesday after passing a medical.  A product of the Stoke City academy, Louis had a succession of loan spells before enjoying a prolific season at Wrexham.  He joins Clarkson and Fletcher in the revamped forward line and shows no lack of ambition when speaking of his move.

“I’m delighted to be here and it is a massive step in my career,” he said. “It wasn’t a move I could turn down.  I’m here to score goals and I hope I can do that. In two seasons, I’ve scored forty goals and I’m going to try and make that sixty in three or even more if I can.”

'Well fans are familiar with the qualities that Louis Laing will bring to our defence.  He came on loan as the winter transfer window closed and partnered Stephen McManus in the eleven crucial games at the end of the season.  Despite receiving a red card only 25 minutes into his debut game he became a fixture in the back line and fully deserved the offer of a two year contract.

Their arrival brings to six the number of new arrivals following the exodus following the play-off game.

Marvin Johnson agreed an extension to his current contract that will keep him in claret and amber until the summer of 2018.  His impressive showing in the final months of last season suggests that he will be a target for others in the next few seasons.  If he continues to deliver excellent service to his striking partners we could be the recipients of a sizeable transfer fee.

The squad sets off for a training camp in Holland on Saturday.  With so many new faces it will provide an excellent opportunity for team bonding.
