Maradona for Fir Park?

Given the change in duties of George Adams and Chris McCart (Adams is looking after management duties and McCart is acting as Butcher’s assistant), the interim administrator recently revealed that the club were looking to add to the youth coaching side of the management team.

‘Well fan Martyn and Maradona

A deputation with close connections to the club recently met Maradona in Mexico and the interest shown by the superstar in the plight of Motherwell is clearly demonstrated in the photograph.

Terry Butcher has mellowed some since their 1986 meeting at the World Cup in Mexico City. In that famous game the English defender elbowed the Argentinian in the face just before half time but the wee man got his revenge after the break when he scored the two memorable goals.

The arrival of the wee striker at Fir Park would give a huge lift to all the players at the club and young players all over Scotland would surely benefit from learning at the feet of one of the greatest players.

But wait...maybe we would be better off bringing Dougie Arnott back to the fold. After all, he probably gave Terry B just as much of a runaround as the Argie and his expenses from Carluke are bound to be more affordable!

We can but dream… Gaza to Dundee – pah!
