Mark has Found the Secret

This thought flies in the face of the simple notion that managers are supposed to get the best out of what is available and basics like organisation and motivation do not require Brazilian like skills from the players.

Mark McGhee is walking proof that a manager can turn round an ailing side simply by being good at his own job. We may have plenty of problems, not least our total inability to defend set pieces, but he does not hide from these issues or look to shift the blame. And the change in fortune enjoyed by players such as Quinn, McGarry and Clarkson, who were all written off by the Fir Park crowd, is a joy to behold.

How long the side can sustain this form is questionable as the squad still lacks strength in depth but at present there is an optimistic mood around Motherwell which has been missing for a long time.
