Motherwell and McManus agree a two year deal

The experienced central defender joined Motherwell in 2013 and has become a fixture in the team.  The 33 year old made his ‘Well debut under the leadership of Stuart McCall when we played the home leg of the Europa League tie against Kuban Krasnodar.

His ability to develop younger playing partners has been recognised by the manager.  Speaking to the MFC website he said, “I firmly believe we were able to develop some of the talented younger players like Ben Hall because of his and the other experienced lads’ influence.”  McManus will spend some of his time coaching the U17s.

Deals have been offered to Hammell, Lasley, McFadden, Hall and McDonald but no news of their decisions has been released.  The club will be hoping for some positive responses soon to allow planning for the new season to progress.
