Motherwell are going to Iceland

icelandMotherwell will start the 2010/11 Europa League campaign at home to Breidablik of Iceland.  The first leg should be played at Fir Park on July 15 with the return match taking place in Iceland on July 22.

Our opponents entered the draw process at the second qualifying round having won the Icelandic Cup.  They play in the town of Kopavogur, the second city of the country, although presumably any fans making the trip north will be going via capital Reykjavik - indeed, Kopavogur is essentially a suburb of its bigger neighbour.

This is Motherwell's second attempt at the new Europa League but we fell short of making the group stage last season as Steaua Bucharest proved too strong in the third qualifying round.  Flamurtari and Llanelli had been previously defeated.  Read about all of our European campaigns here.
