Our recent form in this competition has been poor. Although we reached the dizzy heights of the semi-final stage in 2011 (2-1 loss to Rangers), we have dropped out at the first hurdle in the last two attempts. First there was the 2-0 defeat at Ibrox as the newly reformed Rangers brushed us aside with a youth team and last season we were dumped with 2-0 loss at Fir Park to an Aberdeen team that had to play for 76 minutes with ten men.
