Motherwell end the warm ups with a loss at Easter Road

We got off to a flying start when Johnson rattled in a free kick off the bar but the lead lasted only two minutes.  Motherwell failed to deal with a corner and Cummings took advantage to equalise from close in.

Hibs scored another couple before the break with a Holt finish (16 min) and  a McGinn header(22min).  McDonald was on the receiving end of taunts from the home crowd as they showed their frustration at the failed signing of our striker.

Few of our attacks resulted in pressure on the Hibs' goal and the deficit was stretched when Keatings made it 4-1 after 66 minutes.  Blyth and Johnson had to be replaced with injuries that will be a concern with the new season fast approaching.

The pre-season games have done little to inspire confidence in the renewed team but the results mean nothing.  We'll be in a better place to judge after the meeting with Rangers at Fir Park on Saturday.
